SCORE PRODUCTION

At Both Worlds, we pair modern digital music production technology with an analog approach to making music.

In the current age of software instruments and AI composers, we believe that real musicians bring an irreplaceable human touch to music that is as inseparable as rhythm is from the human heart.

We work with high caliber musicians to get the job done well, efficiently, and on time.

We aim for a visceral response to accompany your film - whether that is joyous, ebullient, and triumphant, or terrifying, anxiety-inducing, and mysterious.

In an age of music that is quantized and autotuned until it sounds more robotic, lifeless, and forgettable rather than human, passionate, and affecting, we do not aim for perfection, but for beauty. We recognize that it is the little human details that make a piece of music withstand the test of time.

The inspiration we take for the music we compose comes from the words and beautifully crafted descriptions in your script, the range of images and the cinematographer’s vision, the style of directing, and even the performances of the actors.

Music should be unique and original, not sound like a template; it should surprise and reward in the same way as the images, the directing, and the acting. But we also believe the music is not the star of the story - it is there to support and should never overshadow the images and performances but complement and enhance them by providing depth, dimension, and emotion.

We look forward to helping make your film project be the best it can be. We work with both short and full-length feature films, and can provide both score and soundtrack work. If you are interested in working with us, we will provide a free consultation call after reading or viewing a sample of your project.
